    A museum quality,
    c1840
    hand wrought
    Chinese export silver teapot.
    This work is very much like the Captain Peele cream jug and covered sugar
    that we are listing.
    Hallmarked CU and date letter "k" and 3 pseudo marks.
    A rare,
    variation of Cutshing's mark.
    The identical mark in Forbes text.
    Raised pear shape, hand chased leaf and flower.
    Cover with lotus blossom bud in leaf frame.
    Petal fluting and traditional grape and leaf on stippled surface.
    Original collar support & hand cut fastener.
    Leaf crown twisted rope or vine handle.
    Atop scallop frame scroll feet united by floating leaf and vine on stippled ground.
    Never monogrammed.
    This Chinese teapot is 11 1/2 inches and
    weighs 54
    standard ounces.
    Hallmarked as shown.
    In excellent condition. Rich silver patina throughout.
    Retains near original detail.
    Handle secure and retains the original heat stops.
