Description
Up for auction/sale is a vintage NOS set of 4 Collins/Highball glasses which were produced by the Canadian Corporation for the 1967 World Exhibition. The glasses are copyrighted 1963, so I suspect they were manufactured between 1963 and 1967.On the bottom of each glass is a "D" makers mark, but I was unable to find a Canadian company with this mark.
Rather you remember the Montreal Exposition from 1967, or the celebration surrounding e Canada's Centennial (1867-1967), these glass have black and gold renditions of the Canada, France, Great Britain, and United States pavilions, along with a variety of Canada/Expo 67 logos.
This NOS set is in excellent condition, with the glasses looking brand new with only very minor (if any) signs of age or wear, but the box does show some mild signs of shelf wear, has a (been blurred out) inked price on the front, and a small section of cardboard missing on the reverse, but is in otherwise very sound condition. The glasses measure roughly 5 5/8" tall, have a 2 3/4" rim, a 2 7/16" heavily weighted base, and hold a full 12oz of your favorite concoction.
I have described these glasses as best I can, but to augment my description I have provided several high-resolution images from varying angles collectively, in pair rotated at 180 degrees, and close-ups of the pavilion artwork to allow for a detailed review of quality, condition, and desirability.
This will be packaged with care to best ensure this rarely offered set of glasses arrives as pictured and described.
