This group of medals and militaria was awarded and issued to Chief Warrant Officer
    Robert Burnham McNett
.   Mr. McNett was born in Alpine, CA, on May 1, 1914.  He first enlisted in the Navy on January 17, 1934, at Portland, OR.  After boot camp at San Diego, he was assigned to the USS Chaumont, then later to the USS San Francisco.  He was honorably discharged on January 14, 1938, when he was issued this Good Conduct medal.  In October of 1940 he joined the Reserves, and was called to active duty in January of 1941.  In November of 1944, while assigned to the USS Gallatin, was promoted to Chief Electrician's Mate.  He must have reenlisted at least twice because he was promoted Chief Warrant Officer 3, on February 26, 1953 (noted in the 1955 Navy Register).  He died on April 4, 2003, at Seattle, WA, and is buried at the Evergreen Washelli Memorial Park, in Seattle, WA.
I will include a copy of his complete FOIA military records (23 pages, not all shown in Ebay) from the St. Louis archives, a copy of his CWO3 promotion notation in the 1955 Navy Register, and a copy of his Navy muster file while assigned to the USS Pintail.  I should note that his records also show that he was awarded the WW2 Victory medal, the American Campaign medal, and the American Defense Service medal, but if issued, the whereabouts are unknown.
