WWII -70s medals, uniforms, wings, flags group Major General Gordon L. Doolittle

I purchased this group from the family estate on the 14th. Never before available to collectors.
WWII - 70s medals, uniforms, wings group Major General Gordon Lewis Doolittle. I just bought these from the family estate. Doolittle was born in Oregon City, Oregon in 1921. He was a Boy Scout and in 1942 became an aviation cadet. In 1943 he earned his wings and commission. Doolittle did 70 combat missions over Europe in P-51s and P-38s. He had three confirmed aerial victories. He flew with the 479th Fighter Sqyadron, 8th Air Force. After the war, Doolittle joined the Oregon Air National Guard. Shortly thereafter, he assumed command of the 123rd Fighter Squadron. Later, he commanded the Oregon Air Guard and retired as a Major General in 1977. He earned the Air Force Distinguished Service Medal, Legion of Merit, Distinguished Flying Cross, and 6 Air Medals.
This lot includes: A mess dress jacket with MG shoulder boards, bullion wings, and his mini medals (9). One shoulder board has a bad snap./ a tan unifom ( jacket and pants) with ribbons, bullion wings, and bullion "US" devices. I see one small moth nip on the back, just below the collar. There are no names in the clothing. / a great general's '3 cloud' visor cap with Doolittle's calling card in the lining. / a Major General and Brigadier General flag (the brigadier flag shows fading) / the wood name plate that was outside his office at the Air Guard base in Portland / 2 extra bullion wings for a tan uniform / a copy of a photo of Doolittle and his crew chief in front of a P-51 - probably in England. This photo was in his office. / a original Echelon 43J aviation cadet book (like a yearbook) with Doolittle pictured and identified/ and lastly, a Air Force Association certificate to Doolittle (this will be removed from the frame and rolled up for shipping.
